Live Your Dream Awards

Empowering Women Who Have Overcome Extraordinary Obstacles to Build Independent, Educated, and Self-Sustaining Futures.

Every year, Soroptimist distributes more than $2.9 million in education awards to over 2,000 women all over the world.

Over half of our Live Your Dream Awards recipients are survivors of domestic violence, trafficking or sexual assault. Nearly all of the women and families we serve have overcome enormous obstacles including poverty, teen pregnancy, and drug or alcohol addiction.

Live Your Dream Awards recipients may use the cash award to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education, such as books, childcare, tuition and transportation.

Eligible applicants can submit their application between August 15 - November 15. Ultimately, a Live Your Dream Awards finalist has the potential to receive up to $16,000 to help offset tuition costs, purchase books, get transportation, or find reliable childcare so she can worry less about how to pay her bills and focus on reaching her dreams.

STOP Human Trafficking

STOP Human Trafficking raises awareness and mobilizes our community to stand against human trafficking and sexual slavery while advocating for the protection, freedom, and dignity of women and girls.

Each January, in recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, Soroptimist International of Oxnard joins with neighboring Soroptimist clubs for a powerful community event dedicated to education, awareness, and prevention. Together, we bring together speakers, survivors, advocates, and community members to shed light on the realities of human trafficking, share resources, and inspire action. This collaborative event strengthens our collective voice and reinforces our commitment to protecting vulnerable women and girls in our region.
